Grail Tarot

interpretations by Simone Solon
Sometimes all we can do is hold on. It is not that we feel endangered or lost, but rather that we have no place to go but neither have we arrived. We exist in a calm 'as idle as a painted ship upon a painted ocean'. This too is a challenge. If we are not to fall back we must hold on: endure until the way forward is clear again. We wait in an eternity that offers us nothing while the twin serpents whisper to us both wisdom and deceit, and the wolf may guide us across the threshold or devour us before we reach it. Our strength is to do nothing.
