3. THE BASIC BULLY

Ok, see, I'm just in the playground by the field and this boy comes up to me. He is way taller than me and is about three years older. He comes up to me and says, "Oi, do you like maff." This seemed so random I just couldn't work out what he meant by "maff". So I say "do I like what?" And he goes "maff do you like it?" this made nooo difference at all. It was like saying something to a foreigner more slowly like it would make a difference even though they speak no English. So trying to sound casual like this was totally normal I say, "urm, in what way, what do you mean?"
     "oo know, maff init."
     "urm, no."
He then says, "You know maff, one two three, one plus one is two, duh" At this point he is accompanied by a friend, they are both grinning manically and I just know they're up to no good. I probably sounded funny to them as well since I was speaking standard English and didn't understand a word of slang. "Ooooh, you mean math."
"He's bare F-ing dumb." (The word "bare" in non-standard English basically means "Really".) "So do you like it?" I had no idea what to say so I decided to go half way, "er, its ok.'
"Oh my God, so you like maff."
      "Umm, ok."
And surprise surprise, both of the boys take me by one arm each and the one who had been doing all the talking said, "We hate anyone who likes maff. You're going in the bin, mate." As well as the rather worried feeling I got from the prospect of going in the bin I also felt totally humiliated due to the large amount of joy this sight brought passers by. I had no idea what to do when a boy. One of their friends, runs up to us and says, "Bill's just got out." At this dramatic remark both boys let me go and the first one says, "Where is he? Lets go," and at that all the boys ran off. Though the boys hadn't done anything to me physically I got nervous every time I saw them. They never did anything to me after that except for calling me "Classical boy" or 'Posh dude' every so often. I was really pleased two years later when those boys left school though the nickname "Posh dude" has followed to this day.

This example of bullying was a one off and wasn't drastically threatening. However, there are far worse bullies out there. It is usually the bully who picks one person and picks on them frequently who is the more threatening one as you may see in this next tale.
