Dracula's Ark by
Simone Solon

All night long and all the next day and all the night after that Dracula and X and Evil Eye worked very hard. The Stolen Mountain fairly glowed like a lantern as the Wicked Dwarves stoked their furnaces and made huge sheets of metal. Vampires and ghouls, werewolves, witches, imps and goblins all worked harder than they'd ever worked before and though they quarrelled a lot (being a bad-tempered bunch) the iron ark was soon nearly finished and the loading began.
The vampires took on barrels of blood and X took on sacks of porridge. The witches and warlocks took on herbs and boxes of magical powders and toadstools, deadly nightshade and mandrake to make potions with. The ghosts and the goblins and the ghouls (who weren't very health conscious) took on chocolate and cream cakes and syrup. Small green monsters loaded up with jelly and mud and the wicked dwarves took on sticks of rock and fruit drops and toffees. The dragons wanted to take on millions of matches and boxes of gunpowder but Dracula announced that matches and gunpowder were too dangerous and they would have to live on marshmallows until they came to land again.
